Bev Nicholson says … I would just like to say when I first joined your weight management class I thought it was a slimming club but then I found it was so much more! I've enjoyed every single week. You have taught me that nutrition is more than losing a few pounds here and there but about understanding what you put in your body and the effects the lack of nutrients has on you. You've taught me its not necessarily how much you weigh that’s important but looking after yourself with nutrition and fitness. Thank you so much for your time and your knowledge. Sharon Blade says … Anna Ferguson trained me for approx 5 years. Without her motivation and inspiration I would probably never have set foot into the gym after a long, tiring day at work. Always with a smile she will push you a little further when you thought it was not physically possible. A tyrant for punishing me with the much hated cardiovascular exercise. Her routines are never boring and always stimulating. So, thank you Anna for keeping a 50 plus in reasonable shape. Nicki Nutter says …Having Anna as a personal trainer has been great. She has really helped to motivate me to keep going and to have a goal to aim for. Having a structured training plan has helped too because it stops me getting bored doing the same old thing. It’s good to be able to see how you have improved over time by looking back at your stats and seeing what’s changed. That really motivates me to keep going because it proves that it is doing me some good even when I think it isn't.
Alyson Smith says …When I met Anna I had already built up my exercise by training myself to run with the goal of completing a second 10km...And not coming last this time! I desperately wanted to improve my time and ability to cope with hills but despite being committed and regular in my training pattern I didn’t seem to move on. Anna immediately spotted the problem – all I was doing was running. She introduced core strength training, boxercise and run-walking and within two weeks I couldn’t believe the difference. Better still – exercise had become fun – not a war I constantly fought to win and lost! The variety meant I looked forward to our sessions and really noticed the difference when out running between times. In fact I knocked twelve minutes off my next 10km and I was sooooo not last! Martin says …I had never had a female trainer before. But I had seen Anna working with some body builders across the gym she looked so small in comparison but they seemed to be listening to every word she said. It was another 6 months before I found the courage to ask her advice. But I need not have been nervous as her humour and approachable nature soon put me at ease. My body has changed dramatically it's stronger, more muscular, leaner and my fitness levels have never been better. What's strange is it was easy. As Anna promotes consistent and significant changes to diet and is forever changing my programme. Anna always seems to be there with a word of encouragement and motivation and it would be strange not seeing her sweating away beside me on the treadmill too. She likes to get involved and I think that’s what people like. Sarah says … Anna is the first to admit that she is addicted to courses and self help literature, and reckons that any study she has undertaken has been primarily for herself. Due to her work and observations she has felt compelled to help others in the same way she initially tried to help herself. She doesn’t claim to have all the answers when it comes to the sensitive subject of body image. But with her knowledge, experience and humour she has transformed many physiques pushing them forward towards good health and fitness. Anna doesn’t take a superior stand dictating her point of view. But places herself among us promoting interaction and offering the use of her knowledge. Encouraging everyone to jump onto the good health band wagon as if it were a club you’d be mad not to join. |
